CARE Walk - May 8, 2010

Our next Breast Cancer 5K CARE Walk will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010. The start/finish is at Oakwood High School’s Stadium, and the route (with an optional one-mile turnaround) follows the interior residential streets in Oakwood’s southeastern quadrant. We do not cross major thoroughfares or busy intersections, and the route is fairly flat. It is a great walk for people of all ages and abilities.

We hope you will join us because we pamper our walkers! We have bagels, fruit, water, and hot beverages. Survivors receive a free gift from our lead sponsor, Whispers Home of the Shops of Oakwood. Pre-registrants receive a free gift, too. Dan Edwards emcees our morning festivities with great music and interviews. Walkers can stroll through our health fair before and after the walk. The health fair, called Health CARE, will cover a variety of topics not limited to breast cancer.

CARE Walk Events

CARE Walk begins and ends at the Oakwood High School Stadium on Schantz Avenue behind Oakwood High School. CARE Walk is held the second Saturday in May each year. Our next CARE Walk will be held on May 8, 2010. Registration and the Health CARE will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the walk will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.

We will have hot beverages, water, fruit, and bagels for all our walkers, and all participants are entered into our very popular door prize drawing. Please come and join the fun!
