CARE Walk - May 12, 2012
Our next Breast Cancer 5K CARE Walk will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012. The start/finish is at Oakwood High School’s Stadium, and the route (with an optional one-mile turnaround) follows the interior residential streets in Oakwood’s southeastern quadrant. We do not cross major thoroughfares or busy intersections, and the route is fairly flat. It is a great walk for people of all ages and abilities.
We hope you will join us because we pamper our participants! We have bagels, fruit, water, and hot beverages for everyone. Cancer Survivors receive a free gift from Whispers Home of the Shops of Oakwood. All who pre-register receive a free gift, too. Our local celebrity Dan Edwards emcees our morning festivities with great music and interviews. Walkers can stroll through our health fair before and after the walk. The health fair, called Health CARE, will cover a variety of topics not limited to breast cancer.
